Situation Report
Wayanad Landslide
On July 30, 2024, the hilly regions near Meppadi Grama Panchayat in Wayanad district, Kerala, experienced multiple landslides following two days of relentless heavy rainfall. The disaster has claimed at least 94 lives, with many more missing or trapped under debris. Significant damage to property, including the collapse of schools and infrastructure, has left several villages isolated. Rescue efforts are ongoing amid challenging weather conditions, with relief agencies working tirelessly to provide aid to the affected communities.
